Annual Salary:$42,556.80

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with occasional night or weekend

Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.

The Housing Stabilization Specialist will work directly with individuals who have behavioral health conditions and/or developmental disabilities, including: substance abuse disorders, serious mental illnesses (SMI), or co-occurring disorders. Persons served may include individuals with a wide range of behavioral health and/or developmental conditions who are homeless, have past incarcerations, may live in group homes, and/or have frequent psychiatric hospitalizations. The Housing Stabilization Specialist will help the individuals identify housing needs, assist them in applying for and securing housing opportunities, including development of a housing plan, and assist individuals in maintaining stable housing, after move-in.Work involves managing a caseload, supportive counseling and in-home, housing focused skill supports.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Counseling) and one (1) year case management experience including housing resource for adults with mental health and co-occurring disorders.

Valid state Driver's License.Please submit your Department of Motor Vehicle driving record current within the last 60 days.

As a condition of employment with Hampton Newport News CSB, you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID 19 or fit within an exemption under the law. Accordingly if selected, employment is conditioned on providing proof of vaccination or having an approved exemption prior to starting employment.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
