Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.

Womens SA Services Navigator will identify, recruit and engage intravenous and or opioid use disorder individuals, to include pregnant and postpartum women to obtain substance use disorder and medical assisted treatment services. The Womens SA Services Navigator will assist with referrals and linkages to SUD/MAT services, and will provide the initial linkage, and care coordination to primary care and related social services programs to provide successful enrollments in SUD/MAT program(s). The Womens SAService Navigator position will perform various case management services for the client include outreach, substance abuse screening need assessments, treatment planning, linkage, monitoring, advocacy, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, daily living support, medication supervision, and similar functions. Some functions of this position will occur within local correctional facilities, local hospitals, local Human/Social Services offices, other community settings and the HNNCSB. In addition, theWomens SA Services Navigator will provide community outreach and education regarding substance use treatment services available within the HNNCSB to community partners and stakeholders.

Requirements:Bachelors degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or Counseling) and one (1) year substance use disorder (SUD) case management experience. Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) a plus.

As a condition of employment with Hampton Newport News CSB, you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID 19 or fit within an exemption under the law. Accordingly if selected, employment is conditioned on providing proof of vaccination or having an approved exemption prior to starting employment.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
