Email Opening Apply Now Title Part-time Instructor, Special Education Teacher - Culinary Program  Description This position is for our Competitive Employability Training Academy (CERT) Primary Functions: Responsible for teaching students with intellectual and or developmental disabilities in a performance-based program in culinary arts. Teach knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the culinary arts discipline to include kitchen sanitation and safety, following standardized recipes, using a variety of cooking methods to prepare breakfast foods, stock, sauces, and soups, meat and poulty, and a variety of breads. Core Job Functions: Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter. Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction. Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment. Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies. Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught. Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. – prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.) Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech’s Adult Career Development program. Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.   Position Requirements Must have Current Oklahoma Certified Secondary Special Education Teacher Certificate or Related Field Certification. Must have a minimum of three years experience teaching in a special education classroom. Must attend Train-the-Trainer session provided by OSDE-SES Must provide a recommendation letter from a school district administrator or related supervisor. Experience training or mentoring adults preferred.
