ROLE SUMMARY

Responsible for safety, helping to deliver profitable growth by overseeing schedules, priorities, and development for Electrical/Electronic Assemblers and Technicians.

Sets performance expectations to deliver high quality products

Create and maintain a culture that encourages collaboration and teamwork to challenge that status quo and a creates a sense of urgency to meet our Customer promises

Build a skilled, collaborative, and engaged team; training, motivating, and coaching appropriately.

Inspect and verify all product quality is up to company and customer standards. Submit ECRs as needed.

Communicate regularly with peer leads, engineering, and purchasing to ensure a timely and smooth production flow.

Resolve team members’ questions and problems. Answer questions brought by other departments and bring challenges to the manager when appropriate.

Participate in Lean initiatives. Recommend and help implement improvement across all departments.

Write, update, and communicate department procedures, checklists, and instructions

Take ownership for self-development, achieving leadership development goals and assisting in the growth and development of direct reports

Participate in department’s hiring and corrective personnel decisions.  Oversee time-off schedules.

Perform technician and assembly work approximately 25%-50% of the time.

 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Completion of a technical degree, or equivalent experience and knowledge, plus 5 years’ experience wiring panels and complex machines from prints, schematics and technical instructions.

Experience using basic principles of electricity and knowledge of electrical and electronic components, motors and motor control concepts, and various testing and measuring equipment. 

Solid soldering skills and strong math and computer skills. 

Requires a general knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Requires demonstrated problem solving capabilities, attention to detail and accuracy skills.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret purchasing related documents such as catalogs, product-related literature, parts and materials specifications, and technical books and/or manuals. Ability to prepare reports, purchase orders and correspondence related to purchasing. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and with other employees of the organization.  Ability to negotiate purchasing terms and conditions favorable to the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
