Job Summary:

The Triage Registered Nurse coordinates patient care with clinical and non-clinical professionals in an office setting.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under the general supervision of the licensed physicians and nurse practitioners, the triage registered nurse coordinates patient care to drive positive outcomes
  • Evaluates and assesses patient health care needs
  • Obtains appropriate input and direction from licensed physicians and nurse practitioners as needed to determine best clinical recommendations for patients
  • Responds to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Reviews test results and other pertinent information with patients and provides patient education
  • Supports licensed physicians and nurse practitioners with electronic medical record documentation
  • Collaborates with triage registered nurse colleagues
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the licensed physicians and nurse practitioners
  • Follows all HIPAA guidelines

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • OBGYN Exprience
  • Experience utilizing and documenting in electronic medical records
  • Intermediate computer literacy
  • Experience with answering a high volume of patient phone calls
  • Experience as a triage nurse

 

Physical Demands: May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.

In accordance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) order that all hospitals and nursing homes “continuously require all covered personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.”  Upon receipt of a conditional job offer, candidates who are not already vaccinated must obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the vaccine protocol. The order allows for limited medical exemptions with reasonable accommodations, consistent with applicable law.
