Pricing Analyst II 

Description

PURPOSE

The Pricing Analyst II will utilize a prepared file with the base DAT pricing, and using our internal data and resources, prepare the bid for presentation to the regional logistics sales team and customer. Assist in developing a strategy for the bid. Also may be involved in the preparation of the initial file information, prior to review by Senior Analyst/ Manager.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Execute bid process on Mid to Large Customers-
    • Collaborate with all business units to ensure accurate costs basis for assigned bids.
    • Collaborate with Carrier Development team and Plus P group on drop trailer opportunities
    • Identify and rank target lanes and opportunities based on internal data, operations feedback and strategy and market knowledge
    • Present and review pricing with national and logistics sales team.
    • Adjust margins and pricing based on feedback from the operations group
  • Track and measure customer commitment actualization -
    • Lead Monthly review meeting with Logistics Management Team to ensure customer commitments are being actualized
    • Identify target lanes and carriers based on market trends
  • Preparing Bid Files if necessary in order to meet deadlines
  • Assist with CRM Management as necessary in collaboration with Pricing Analyst I -
  • Storing feedback and data from customer on any bids or awards received
  • Uploading tariffs and pricing into the system
  • Auditing loads to ensure tariffs and billing accuracy
  • Collaborate with Logistics Operations team on small accounts (~$0-$1M annualized spend) to present customer with best possible pricing and strategy.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree – or equivalent experience
  • Transportation pricing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with detailed knowledge of Excel

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions.
  • Travel domestically as necessary.
