Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.

The MH Regional Supervised Housing Program is to reduce the length of stay in local and state psychiatric facilities by providing a living environment that will maximize the individuals opportunities and independence by providing quality supports, training and individualized services to individuals with mental health and possible co-occurring substance abuse.

Supervises agency operated residential facilities and supportive living services for individuals who are mentally impaired, with or without a co-occurring substance or intellectual developmental disability diagnosis. Collaborates with the Residential Manager to supervise residential staff engaged in client care, supervision and training.

Requirements:  Registered Qualified Mental Health Professional Adult (QMHP-A) with the Virginia Board of Counseling and at least two (2) years of experience providing behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness or emotionally impaired. Supervisory experience is a plus.

As a condition of employment with Hampton – Newport News CSB, you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID 19 or fit within an exemption under the law. Accordingly if selected, employment is conditioned on providing proof of vaccination or having an approved exemption prior to starting employment.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
