Job Summary

The Manager, External Events is responsible for overseeing supplemental event staff in the execution of PNC Park external events. This role is also responsible for planning and executing non-game day and certain game day events at PNC Park, for external requests and relations; including, but not limited to large client events (galas, banquets), corporate meetings, weddings, personal celebrations, concerts, field events, and ballpark events.


  • Supervise, train, and oversee the supplemental external events team in all daily aspects of the selling, planning, and execution of PNC Park external events.
  • Respond to external (inbound) requests and inquiries regarding booking on-site events.
  • Schedule and conduct appointments for the planning and execution of events.
  • Provide information, details, pricing, and event quotes to external clients and groups.
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate event specifics and planning functions to clients and groups.
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate event specifics internally to the Marketing, Operations, Communications, Corporate Sales, and IT Departments, as well as, ARAMARK Catering.
  • Act as liaison with external clients in order to properly plan and execute meetings, celebrations, and hospitality functions.
  • Monitor industry and market trends, to identify new event opportunities for PNC Park.
  • Create floor plans for external events.
  • Execute event contracts and payments.
  • Meet and exceed yearly department goals established by Director, Events & Hospitality.
  • Assist with maintaining the departmental and ballpark venue/event calendar.
  • Review content of PNC Park Events marketing campaigns.
  • Manage vendors prior to and during the event to ensure flawless efficiency
  • Responsible for the set-up, breakdown, and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment and presentation equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Position Requirements


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Management or Event Planning.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  3. Experience with booking software and CAD programs.


  1. Experience with a professional sports team.
  2. Knowledge/experience working with social media.
  3. Experience working with audio visual equipment.
  4. Experience working with city and county to secure necessary permits, city services, etc.
