Explorer (Learning Facilitator) Job Description
Pay Rate: $12/hour
Part time: Wide variety of availability needed including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Do you enjoy a learning and fun work environment? Do you have or want experience working with kids and adults as they embrace the joys of the natural world? Are you looking for a workplace that is collaborative, curious, and works to excel? Then we want you on our team!

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interact with visitors of all ages at the Museum of Natural Curiosity, Museum of Ancient Life, Farm Country, Ashton Gardens and the Butterfly Biosphere to ignite transformative family learning and guide exploration.
• Engage guests in play activities to stimulate learning by assisting with delivery of facilitated and unfacilitated programs including: school field trips, school outreach, birthday parties, day camps, and other educational programs.
• Cultivate a positive, curious and safe working environment for co-workers and guests
• Model and foster curiosity and inquiry learning skills, like questioning, exploring, testing, refining, and explaining during program delivery and interactions.
• Collaborate with other Learning and Engagement staff to develop, evaluate, and refine facilitated and unfacilitated experiences.
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
• Experience teaching or facilitating in formal or informal learning environments.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative workplace, and to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Strong communication skills, great customer service, patience, and optimistic attitude
• Ability to: climb stairs, bend, and stand for extended periods of time; manipulate small objects; work around and with animals and in outdoor settings; work around and with insects and arachnids
• Valid Utah Driver's License preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass a background check.
