Returns Administrator

Summary:
The Returns Administrator serves as a key internal and external customer support function by specializing in the handling and processing of all customer returns for Van Meter, Inc. This position successfully works with our customers, sales functions, purchasing agents, and return coordinators to successfully facilitate the return process from beginning to end. Some of the primary responsibilities for this role are verifying return material condition, part numbers, and quantities once the material has been received in returns and issuing credit to our customers when material has been successfully returned to our suppliers or stock. This role facilitates the returns process and serves return coordinators while exercising good judgment with relative autonomy, and by providing a consistent and reliable level of support in response to dynamic situations and needs. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to be our customer’s competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Process all customer returns
  • Draft return goods authorization documents
  • Verifying return material condition, part numbers, and quantities
  • Prepare documents and material for shipping
  • Track and issue credits to customers and from suppliers
  • Enforce the Werner Electric return policy
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, account managers and purchasing agents
  • Product put away

  • Ability to analyze, identify & then follow up to resolve discrepancies
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to effectively interpret and enforce company policies and procedures with both internal and external customers
  • Drives for continuous improvement

 

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • College Education preferred
  • Must have demonstrated computer skills
  • Familiarity with Eclipse or other inventory management programs is a plus
  • Self-motivated, confident, and reliable
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and growth
  • Professional demeanor, appearance and communication
  • Product knowledge and/or industry experience highly desirable
