Job Classification: Exempt and Full-Time

Manages: Individual Giving Assistant and apprentices, as necessary

Reports To: Director of Individual Giving

Scheduling: Mon-Fri, 10-6pm w/ some evening and weekends required for performances. City Center offers a flexible work policy with two remote days per week.

 

Job Overview: The Senior Membership Manager is a key member of City Center’s Individual Giving team and is responsible for leading all facets of the Friends of City Center program. This role serves as the project manager for our year-end appeal and other small gift campaigns and is the primary point of contact between our Individual Giving and Marketing teams. The position also manages a portfolio of mid-level President’s Council members ($2,500 - $5,000) and provides direction to the Individual Giving Assistant and apprentices, as necessary. The Senior Manager is expected to demonstrate a passion for fundraising while upholding City Center’s mission and our commitment to be an anti-racist organization.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, administration, implementation, and tracking of the Friends of City Center membership program (all donations up to and including $2,499) to achieve membership revenue target each year, providing regular progress reports

  • Provide direction and training to Individual Giving Assistant and apprentices, as required

  • Responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of mid-level President’s Council members ($2,500 - $5,000)

  • Prepare all solicitation and acknowledgment materials for Friends of City Center, including cover letters and/or emails, benefits listings, and programming information

  • Develop communication materials to support the Individual Giving program, including brochures, invitations, stationery, signage, newsletters, and WordFly email blasts

  • Manage and segment lists for all membership communications and campaigns in collaboration with Manager of Donor Relations and Analysis

  • Project manage City Center’s Year-End Appeal and other small-gift campaigns in collaboration with Director of Individual Giving

  • Administer all Friends of City Center member benefits, including organizing member receptions and rehearsals in collaboration with our Special Events and Operations teams, and managing member presale logistics and communications with our Marketing and IT teams

  • Serve as primary liaison between Individual Giving and Marketing for web content, including maintaining various web appeals, donor benefit listings, and ticket purchase paths

  • Work in close collaboration with Director of Individual Giving to expand and maintain City Center’s member portal, with a particular focus on digital content and accompanying copy

  • Maintain appropriate administration systems to manage and track the membership program, including daily use of the organizational database (Tessitura)

  • Be proactive in suggesting ways to grow and improve the membership program at City Center

  • Enhance competence through study and participation in conferences and workshops

 
Position Requirements

This Role Requires:

  • 4+ years of fundraising experience at a performing arts or comparable institution

  • Previous experience in the areas of individual giving and/or membership

  • Scheduling flexibility to attend performances and events on nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Experience with Tessitura or a similar CRM platform

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • A collaborative approach to work

  • Ability to communicate effectively and strategically

  • Capacity to coordinate multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment with a precise attention to detail

  • Problem solving and project management skills

  • Leadership skills to mentor a small team of fundraisers with multiple projects and priorities

 

As a valued member of the City Center administrative team, you will receive:

  • Salary between $66,000 and $74,500
