Share Email Opening Title EMS Coordinator (Emergency Department)  Location Joint Township District Memorial Hospital   Full-Time/Part-Time -unspecified-   Working Shift   Hours Per Week 10-12 hours per month   Description The EMS coordinator position is administrative support to the EMS Medical Director to meet the standards defined in OAC 4765-3-05 and 4765-14-03 for the medical director. These responsibilities include Conducting performance improvement programs Conducting education programs Conducting protocol updates Responsible for enforcing state or regional trauma triage protocols for EMS personel under their medical direction through a performance improvement or peer review process. Responsible for the coordination of quality improvement review, problem-solving, medical direction and continuing education for pre-hospital providers and facilitates relationships between and among EMS providers, the facility, and Emergency Physicians of Northwest Ohio, referred to as EPNO. To assure timely and quality pre-hospital care is being given with maximun efficiency by each individual squad serving each facility.   Position Requirements Performance knowledge of all areas of pre-hospital emergency care delivery, acquired through field experience and maintenance of the requirements for on-going certification. Knowledge and understanding of EMS systems, both paid and volunteer and the effect of both on the decision making and change processes. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Analytical skills to organize, supervise, plan and evaluate continuing education seminars. ACLS, PALS, BLS, CEU Instructor, completes four hours of annual stroke education.
