Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting the Curriculum Director in overseeing the completion of and evaluating the work of Work Force Development (WFD) teacher training participants, utilizing the YWCA’s Teacher Training Coursework Curriculum and Anti-Bias Curriculum for a diverse classroom of program participants seeking to earn their Child Development Associate credential. Responsible for training classes virtually and in person, assessing WFD participant’s portfolio writing, understanding WFD classroom training material, and reporting participant progress and needs to the WFD program team.

 

RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Vice President of ECE, and has daily direction from the ECE Curriculum Director. The incumbent will interact with Work Force Development participants and staff.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program Maintenance and Support of Participants:

 

  • Conducts individual and group meetings with program participants to establish positive relationships and assess/assist individual portfolio and course comprehension needs.
  • Carry out WFD session trainings
  • Supports participants in program to elevate skill levels of class work, knowledge of professionalism, program material, child development and portfolio requirements.
  • Represents the YWCA Minneapolis in a cordial, professional and businesslike manner at all times.
  • Technology skills to set up and lead training and writing sessions virtually.
  • Report participant progress in electronic, verbal and written communication.

Pay Rate: $15.00 + per hour

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Successful YWCA MPLS WFD participant or DHS teacher qualified

· Excellent human relations skills.

· Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers virtually or in person

Preferred:

· Possess a CDA or college credits in Child Development or Early Childhood Education

· Graduate of YWCA WFD program

· Experience working with youth ages 0-6

· Ability to speak a second language helpful, but not required

· Experience leading trainings

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Individual must have the ability to get to and from various sites/events/meetings in the metro area on an occasional basis. The individual must have the ability to get to and from varying work sites.
