For more information please visit www.astrazeneca.com .   Description Location: Waltham, MA We are currently seeking a Sophomore, Junior and Senior students for a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2023.   Objectives/Goals of the Position: Gain practical, bench-based drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical setting. Conduct cutting-edge research in drug development. Understand the target engagement and selectivity profile of the potential drug candidate. Maintain multiple cancer cell lines to support research activities. Collect and analyze experimental results; Record experimental procedures and scientific findings in lab notebook. Summarize and present frequent updates at departmental team meetings. Perform differential expression and pathway analysis. Create semi- or fully-automated pipeline to perform the analyses.   Position Requirements   Rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors working towards obtaining a degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, mass spectrometry or related STEM field. Knowledge of basic biology techniques is preferred, but not required. Attention to experimental details and carefully adherence to established lab protocols. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, Coding preferred, but not required. Strong enthusiasm and work ethics; Excellent communication and organization skills. Strong desire to pursue a scientific or healthcare related career in the future.
