Summary:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a crucial role on our Industrial Sales team and is responsible for representing the company in digital sales activities focused on an assigned territory, which may encompass several states. The SDR will be accountable for prospecting and developing new relationships with existing and new Van Meter customers. This individual will engage customers leveraging marketing campaigns and data, and position Van Meter's solutions & services in a relevant way that results in follow-up meetings with the Industrial sales team and/or expanded sales. The SDR will promote our culture and support our purpose of creating lasting value to those we serve by providing insights to our customers and assisting our Industrial Sales team in their efforts to grow market share.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Prospecting new relationships within existing and new customers by leveraging role & industry specific insights and customer specific data.
  • Drives demand for Van Meter Services & Solutions with customers.
  • Drives next steps and opportunities with customers including closing short sales cycle type opportunities digitally and generating leads for the Industrial Sales team.
  • Understands the manufacturing industry, outcome-based selling, and can position our solutions to outcomes at a high level.
  • Facilitates all sales engagements with their customers including engaging the right Van Meter people and resources.
  • Works with marketing and the Industrial Sales team to create account strategies and plans.
  • Utilizes social media outlets like LinkedIn to manage relationships and develop a network of followers.
  • Pursues relationships with potential new accounts, qualifies leads, and tracks sales activities regularly using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
