POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Small Business Services Advisor; Business Services
Reports To: Sr. Small Business Services Advisor, Business Services

In order to achieve this state of success, this position will be responsible for establishing and managing a small business banking portfolio by targeting business customers with credit transaction needs generally under $150,000, deposits and other related business service needs. This position will also work collaboratively with both internal and external business partners to most effectively obtain results.
Specific Accountabilities
Establish a portfolio of Small Business Member relationships (including deposits, loans and other business services) through business development activities in assigned markets.
Focus on outside sales efforts and prospecting activities for the purpose of new member acquisition.
Develop leads, schedule appointments, identify opportunities and recommend appropriate products and services in order to acquire new business.
Attend meetings with Small Business Members and prospective Members to learn about their businesses, assess needs and recommend solutions. Recommend and refer business to other areas of Allegacy as appropriate.
Analyze and recommend loan requests that fall within Allegacy's acceptable risk tolerance for new loans, including appeals, override and exception pricing requests.
Proactively identify opportunities to deepen business relationships.
Ensure business relationships are fully developed, including specific efforts to serve the retail banking needs of the owners/management/employees by partnering with other Allegacy team members and advisors (i.e. the Branch Staff, Investments and Allegacy Benefit Solutions).
Collaborate with teammates to ensure quality and timeliness of the Member experience.
Promote Small Business activities and cross sales in Financial Centers.
Manage credit quality of portfolio by assisting in efforts to resolve loan exceptions, ensure timely repayment, assess ongoing financial performance and collect financial information.
Meet or exceed established service and production goals.
Deliver exceptional member service to every member, every time by delivering consistently high quality service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Brand Culture.
Ensure thorough understanding of expectations and consistently exhibit Allegacy behaviors.
Completion of all required compliance training to include BSA.
Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong outbound business development and relationship building skills.
Ability to analyze small business financial statements.
Direct knowledge of the commercial banking regulatory environment, especially regarding the lending functions.
Knowledge of fair lending and compliance legislation.
Excellent negotiation skills and knowledge of PC applications, to include Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to conduct business in a professional manner, exercising personal discretion and independent judgment, while maintaining compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in respect to the member’s financial affairs.
Proven ability to work well in a team environment and to balance individual production, relationship management and other company demands.
Excellent phone, oral, written and presentation skills.
Able to travel as necessary.
Education/Experience
Education: 4 year college degree in Business or related area from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience and related training.
Experience: Minimum of five years consumer or commercial lending, relationship management, business development and deposit services experience.
