Hours: Monday – Thursday, 3:30 PM – 1:45 AM   Purpose LaForce is looking for a 2nd Shift Metal Fabricator to be responsible for set-up and operation of CNC Mechanical Shear, Hydraulic Press Breaks and Punch Presses in the fabrication process of hollow metal frames and frame components.  The job responsibilities for this position include set-up and operation of equipment and processes in the Bending Department. More specifically, the job activities include figuring and shearing steel flats, bending hollow metal frame components, punching hardware preps, spot welding hardware reinforcements and assembling components. Other activities include the ability to understand and apply basic principles of metal forming, fork lift operation and other fabrication processes.   Also expected is actively support and participate in Continuous Improvements activities by applying Lean Manufacturing tools to daily activities.   Major Responsibilities Set-up and operation of spot welding equipment     Interpret pertinent information from shop orders, shop drawings and frame templates    Safe operation of fork lift trucks for movement of materials Maintain accurate paper work and record keeping Assist in other operations as needed   Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one to three months of related experience and/or training preferred.   Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Physical Demands The employee is required to frequently use hands to lift up to 69# Floor to 60”, carry up to 69#, and push/pull up to 100# force.
