For more information please visit www.astrazeneca.com .   Description Location: Gaithersburg, MD We are currently seeking rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors who are working towards obtaining a bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism for a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2023. Objectives of the Position: This exciting position will allow the qualified candidate to be at the forefront of healthcare communications. The intern will be involved in communicating across our broad and innovative pipeline, including within the growing areas of Respiratory therapies and Vaccines & Immune therapies.   The candidate will also have the opportunity to expand his/her skills in the development and implementation of team initiatives, with an emphasis on an internal/external engagement strategy to help advance product brand and therapeutic area awareness. Primary Responsibilities:  Duties will be tailored to intern’s interest/area of study, but typical duties include, but are not limited to: Lead/participate in projects and/or communications planning process, including contributing to brainstorming and tactical planning. Support corporate affairs team with initiatives that successfully communicate brand and therapeutic area milestones, as well as support the science story. Support events and campaigns to increase engagement and drive company values and culture. Develop multi-channel written/graphic/visual communications for both internal and external use.   Position Requirements Position Requirements: Rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors working towards obtaining a bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism. Strong interest in healthcare. Creative thinker with great attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual. Ability to work well with others or independently. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Proficient in usage of Word and PowerPoint. Strong work ethic.
