Job Description:

Transportation Moving company is seeking a hard working individual for a Part-Time Laborer position. Need a self-starter who can complete time sensitive job tasks with minimal supervision. This mover-helper position performs tasks including, but not limited to, packing, loading, delivering and unpacking household and office furniture. May work with a variety of equipment including hand trucks, moving dollies, walk-boards (ramps), pallet jacks, lift-gates and forklifts. Duties may change with advancement of skills.

Essential Functions:

-Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor moving furniture and heavy objects.

-Be able to lift 50 pounds safely and properly.

-Load and unload trucks and moving vans in a variety of weather conditions.

-Pack and unpack boxes including fragile items such as china and crystal.

-Properly blanket wrap furniture for safe transport.

-Ensure proper safety procedures and bring problems to attention of the lead on the job.

-Be able to follow directions.

Physical Demands:

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects using leg, abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Currently this is a part-time position with the potential advancement to full-time. Days and hours of work will normally occur Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

-Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Compensation: $17.00/hour
