Your role in helping us shape the future:

You will help develop and refine methodologies to evaluate thousands of U.S. hospitals and other healthcare providers. You will work on developing novel hospital performance measures (covering concepts such as surgical outcomes and health equity), refining existing measures, and maintaining and expanding U.S. News & World Report’s portfolio of hospital and healthcare ratings. Every member of the team has a hand in shaping the evolution of the analytical methods that inform potentially life-altering healthcare decisions made by millions of usnews.com users each year.

In addition to getting significant public visibility, the results of your work will be closely followed by diverse healthcare stakeholders, including leaders of health systems. You will have opportunities to engage with healthcare executives, researchers and clinicians, and your work will drive change in healthcare.

On a day to day basis, you will write and review code to manage large Medicare administrative claims data sets and data from other sources, collaborate with other members of the analytics team, develop and refine quality measures applicable in a variety of healthcare settings, and combine these metrics into meaningful evaluations of healthcare providers. You will report to the Senior Health Data Scientist, a Ph.D.-level leader.

Are you up to the challenge?
