Spot Pricing Manager - INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

PURPOSE

This position is responsible strengthening the USA Truck and USAT Logistics brand through freight acquisition on the auction market and through customer freight portals.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Price, audit and evaluate spot pricing requests
  • Set and monitor volume and profitability goals for spot pricing team
  • Develop and manage automated pricing strategy
  • Review and investigate daily missed opportunities
  • Coach and develop team members on effective spot pricing strategies and techniques
  • Collaborate with internal customers to constantly refine spot pricing strategies
  • Supporting Operating Departments by maintaining timely completion of spot pricing requests
  • Note: This position is responsible for supervising others
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three-years relevant experience, including pricing and brokering freight
  • Continuing education in regulatory and compliance items

 

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong general knowledge of freight pricing and strategy
  • Effective communication and collaboration laterally, upward, and downward
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with detailed knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.

 

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions.
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions.
  • Travel domestically as necessary.
