Email Opening Apply Now Title Audio Video Engineer  Description Oversee the purchase, technical operations and maintenance of all audio-visual systems supported by the Information Technology Services Department – including classrooms, event spaces and conference rooms. Essential Functions Oversee the exploration, research, purchase, inventory, installation and integration of AV equipment and services for the District. Serve as Project Coordinator for all audio video projects in the District. Coordinate, design, install, setup, and operate AV presentation systems, video conferencing technology, and other audio-visual equipment in classrooms, conference rooms, and other spaces. Configure and maintain audio-video software and hardware. Provide end user guidance and training for audio-visual components and systems. Create, maintain, and communicate procedures for critical processes surrounding audio visual equipment. Work with vendors on special projects and to troubleshoot audio-video system issues. Research emerging technologies and trends, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations to drive innovation. Serve as Technical lead for all large scale/high value events to ensure that the AV needs are met and the appropriate staff is assigned to the event. Maintain a refresh schedule of audio-visual equipment for the District and determine a replacement timeline when required. Maintain a schedule of maintenance tasks, conduct maintenance, and document all work performed. Provide Tier 3, support for onsite technicians in the event they are unable to resolve issues. Review purchasing invoices to ensure equipment was received. Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.   Position Requirements 4 years of professional AV installation, integration, or programming experience is required. 2 years of experience with QSYS and/or Crestron is also required. Bilingual is a plus Special Skills, Knowledge or Abilities: Knowledge of A/V equipment and best practices regarding A/V design and set-up. AVIXA-CTS or equivalent certification such as Extron XTP-E & Extron Control Professional, Certified Video Engineer, Certified Audio Engineer, or other Audio Video Technology Specialist Certification is required. Ability to work multiple efforts and projects in parallel.
