Share Email Opening Title Estimator   Description Position Summary:  Develop quotes for projects put out to bid to state and local agencies and submitted to contractors for consideration.  Negotiate post-bid awards. Build and maintain positive customer relationships with contractors, agencies, and clients. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Review schedules and provide feedback  Schedule and participate in bid review calls, including cash flows on larger projects Work to improve standard costing and our approach to estimated cost Participate in industry events and professional organizations to build networking opportunities Lead by example in terms of a strong focus on safety, business ethics, work habits and life balance Understand the importance of a safety culture in a construction environment Good communication with vendors and customers Ability to build and enhance relationships with customers  Work as a team player with operations group to maximize capacity, execution and profitability     Position Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Recommended minimum of 3 years Road/Highway construction experience, preferably in Traffic Safety or Pavement Marking.  Comfortable with Excel and Word. Understanding of the financial aspects of job costing and “bid to actual results” including variance analysis. Understanding of the various equipment utilized within the scope of the operation Ability to effectively communicate the scope of work, cost basis and margin in the bid review process, including detailed cost components Ability to analyze historical results for market trends, labor and material trends etc. and integrate into the final bid. Sales training is a plus. Degree in Construction Management, Financial Management, or related field preferred.
