Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Corporate, GA Department of Education and Public Show Account Executive will research, prospect, solicit, prepare proposals and contract new and repeat business for The Classic Center and The new Classic Center Arena. Position will concentrate efforts on bookings inside and outside 18 months. Primary event focus will be meetings, conventions, conferences and public shows that are multi-day events using the facility, equipment and catering of The Classic Center and generating room nights in Athens area hotels. Target events will have attendance of 200 people or more requiring hotel rooms in Athens hotels, 4,000 square feet or more of event space. Target market groups are corporate groups within and outside Athens, public show promoters and GA DOE groups. Sales efforts will be outbound using personal sales calls, telephone calls, outgoing mail and email, attending appropriate trade shows and events. Sales efforts will also include responding and selling inbound inquiries.

TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  1. Be knowledgeable of the mission statement and basic concept of The Classic Center and focus on the selling of space in The Classic Center.
  2. Perform sales-related functions in support of the basic Sales Plan, that includes:
    1. Research and identify qualified prospects for new and repeat business as described in the above General Description. Research to be through personal sales calls to the business/organization, referrals, internet research, trade publications, telephone and other methods.
    2. Book new and rebook past events.
    3. Communicate with prospects and clients by phone, email, postal mail and personal sales calls.
    4. Schedule appointments, make personal sales calls to prospects and clients.
    5. Schedule and conduct site visits with prospects and clients.
    6. Prepare and present proposals for events.
    7. Prepare Ungerboeck profile to be contracted; follow-up for payment of deposit and receipt of signed contract and other required documents.
    8. Enter prospect and sales information in Ungerboeck Scheduling Administration programs.
    9. Maintain trace system for contacts.
    10. Make follow-up contacts with prospects/clients per trace system.
    11. Assist the Director of Sales with Ungerboeck, reporting, contracting and other sales issues.
    12. Attend bi-weekly sales meetings and monthly staff meetings as scheduled.
  3. Submit monthly activity and sales report to the Director of Sales.
  4. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales

REPORTING

The Account Executive will submit a monthly report recapping goals, activity and outside events for the month.

SALES GOALS

The Account Executive sales and activity goals will be established each fiscal year and contracted events and activity from July 1 through June 30.

MARKET ASSIGNMENT

The Account Executive’s primary markets are corporate, GA DOE, Government and public show promoters within and outside of the Athens, Georgia area. This position will represent the Classic Center in Meeting Professionals International and the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and attend their events.

WORK SCHEDULE

Account Executive will work a base 40 hours a week. Account Executive will schedule and be present for client site visits. Account Executive will be willing to work other hours as requested by the Director of Sales with advance notice and at no additional compensation.

OFFICE LOCATION

Account Executive will be based in the Classic Center. Office space and equipment will be provided by The Classic Center.

EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT

The Classic Center will reimburse Account Executive for mileage, meeting registrations and other sales expenses that are approved in advance by the Director of Sales. Approved expenses and receipts are to be submitted to the Director of Sales. Reimbursement will be in a prompt manner.

Account Executive will represent the Classic Center in a professional, ethical and positive manner to all prospects and clients. Account Executive will work cooperatively as a team member of The Classic Center’s staff and perform duties therein as necessary and/or requested by the Director of Sales.

The Account Executive will maintain a professional appearance and attitude in the performance of day-to-day activities. Information, written correspondence and business conversations shall be kept in confidence.

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum high school education or GED, with one (1) year outside sales or B2B/ hospitality sales environment. College degree preferred.
  1. Ability to handle multiple priorities and follow directions with minimum instructions. Ability to work independently as necessary.
  1. Proven track record or meeting and exceeding sales quota. Demonstrated collaboration and negotiation skills.
  1. Positive attitude, high motivation level and a passion for The Classic Center.
  1. This position requires frequent walking and standing. This position requires lifting and carrying objects up to 10 lbs.
  1. Proficient with computer software programs, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office.
  1. Able to hear, see, and to read and write English.
