Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the delivery, sales and promotion of Pilates Training services and Small Group Training Classes that address the clients overall fitness needs and goals; session should highlight benefits of fitness including balance, alignment, core strength, injury rehabilitation and sports performance. We also require complete client records in accordance to standard operating procedures.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Instructional:

  • Design and conduct safe, effective, professional, educational and well-organized Personal Training/Pilates Training sessions in accordance with agency and department branding.
  • Teach Small Group Training classes.
  • Provide a high level of personalized attention to clients which ends with client satisfaction and maintains their motivation to attain their overall fitness goals.
  • Complete a review of the client Health History Questionnaire prior to delivering services (at initial client meeting and annually). Supporting clients to seek medical clearance if indicated on questionnaire.

    Administrative:
  • Complete and maintain accurate and current client information including Member tracking forms, Health History Questionnaire, Physician Release Form (if required), Client Service records and all other designated Personal training/Pilates paper work.
  • Communicate and fully utilize internal and external systems- Appointment Quest, email and Spectrum etc. in a timely manner.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff trainings, meetings and other administrative gatherings relative to position.

    Sales:
  • Build and retain a personal/ Pilates client base and retain current clients.
  • Participate in marketing sales activities create to support and build the Personal Training/Pilates department business.
  • Responsible for meeting department service, revenue/sessions and performance goals.

    Safety:
  • Monitor and instruct Personal Training/Pilates clients during training sessions on the safe and effective usage of Personal Training/Pilates equipment and other fitness areas of the club.
  • Understand special needs of those with health concerns and/or limitations.
  • Provide a safe physical environment and responds appropriately to any medical or other emergency situation.
 
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Nationally recognized Pilates trainer certification, STOTT - Level 1 IMP, Level 2 IR Level CMR, Polestar Mat Series, Allegro Series, Physical Mind Initiation, Concentration, Peak mat and reformer, PMA only with a recognized training component, others upon approval.
  • Experience in the fitness industry; Group Fitness Instructor experience preferred
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills and proven ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • written and verbal, effectively communicate with members and other team members
  • Preferred Bachelors degree from a four year college or university in Kinesiology, Corporate Fitness, Physical Education, Sports Management, and Recreation or in a related field. Preferred:
  • Bi-lingual highly preferred.
  • Additional Specialty Certifications in Kettlebell, TRX, Tai Chi, Martial Arts, Endurance Sports, biking, running, swimming.
     
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to stand walk, sit climb, balance, stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform required pilates training skills and techniques as required by certification.
