Share Email Opening Title 2022-11-02-Senior Accountant  Description Castellum, Inc. has an opening for a Senior Accountant with government contracting accounting experience. The Senior Accountant is an exempt position requiring excellent oral and written communication skills, advanced knowledge of FAR and government cost accounting, and the ability to work both independently and within a group. In this position you will be responsible for posting journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and preparing month-end analysis. This position will report directly to the VP Finance/Controller. This position will be based out of the DC region.   Job Responsibilities Review month and year-end adjusting journal entries, allocations, and labor distribution Analyze general ledger accounts and provide trend and budget to actual analysis Update, post, and reconcile percent of completion revenue for FFP development projects Review and reconcile unbilled revenue, and other balance sheet accounts Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements Update projected cash flow Assist in budgeting, financial audits, forecasting and long-range financial planning Prepare the yearly DCAA incurred cost submission Work with the Senior Director of Accounting to compile the required quarterly and yearly reports Perform other duties as assigned   About the Organization Specialty Systems, Inc. is an Information Technology and Engineering Services provider serving customers across the Federal Government, NJ State and Local Governments, and private industry markets. Experience and Qualifications Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of government contracting and cost accounting experience required. Solid understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) Auditing standards. Proficient with JAMIS Accounting Software. Will accept experience with Deltek Costpoint in lieu of JAMIS. Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel. Must be heavily detail oriented. Possess excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
