Traveling Compliance Specialist | Austin 

Description

This is for a traveling compliance specialist to be based in either Houston or Austin. The portfolio will consist of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Port Arthur. The expectation is to be able to travel throughout the portfolio at least 50% of the time, and up to 75% of the time to work files, train onsite team, approve files, etc. This is a working compliance specialist role that will encompas both working the file and approving the file

Compliance Manager, Senior Compliance Specialist, Compliance Director, Chief Administrative Officer

Main Scope of Work

  • Responsible for ensuring all properties and property files are in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Review all property files and approve or initiate corrections.
  • Responsible for Rainey Property Management corporate and property level state//HUD reporting.
  • Create a Compliance Binder for use at properties and act as the main point of contact for property staff regarding compliance.
  • Research and implement compliance training for all Rainey employees.
  • Perform file audits at prospective properties during acquisition Due Diligence.
  • Coordinate the addition of new properties into Rainey’s compliance curriculum and ensure smooth reporting and compliance upon acquisition.
  • Work with ownership, corporate, and site staff to ensure prompt and accurate communication regarding compliance.
  • Travel to properties for file audits and reviews.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Personal Characteristics

  • A minimum of 3 plus years in Compliance related experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of state and HUD requirements.
  • Prior experience with HUD, state and any other software related to the submission of reports, files etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, highly analytical, and have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with little to no supervision.
