SUMMARY


Under the direction of the Sr. Logistics Manager the Warehouse Coordinator will be responsible for the daily functions of all warehousing processes to include; shipping/receiving, packaging of production material, inventory, and laundry operations/processes. This position also entails making local deliveries and pickups and will ensure that production schedules are met. The Warehouse Coordinator coordinates the proper and safe loading/unloading of trucks and will be responsible for sorting and palletizing all inbound/outbound materials within the warehouse. This person will serve as a liaison to the Sr. Logistics Manager and Logistics Dispatcher in regards to daily warehouse functions and challenges. Safe operation of material handling equipment such as pallet jack and forklifts is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1.    Operate material handling equipment and other machinery to achieve the supply and demand for daily scheduled inbound/outbound deliveries.
•    Move materials by hand or operating machinery (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
2.    Provide top-notch customer service to internal and external customers in regards to stock statuses, orders, transfers, laundry services, and questions related to Logistics Department.
3.    Process inbound and outbound inventory utilizing software/hardware mobile inventory and asset tracking systems.
4.    Prepare goods for transport and storage.
5.    Ship products in response to customer orders and prepare and complete necessary paperwork.
6.    Occasionally operate truck or van to make deliveries/pick-ups and conduct routine vehicle maintenance/checks.
7.    Receive incoming shipments and creates receiving tickets.
8.    Prepare weekly, monthly reports, logs and schedules and assist in the preparation of contract billing.
9.    Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing the manual labor associated with maintenance and up-keep of Warehouse along with utilizing proper safety equipment (i.e. gloves, aprons).
10.    Assist with the loading of company vehicles; adhere to all safety requirements including proper lifting techniques, use of dollies, lift gates, use of seat belts and other equipment when moving material.
11.    Maintain the highest degree of security and control of customer confidential material collection; based on contractual requirements and direction of Opportunity Village management.    
•    Assists in obtaining accurate inventory counts of goods stored on company property as well as performing inventory counts.
12.    Responsible for accurate and legible completion of all documents (i.e. service tickets, delivery tickets and customer documentation).
•     Check all documentation related to the goods being transported by truck or van.
13.    Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED
•    Knowledge of local transportation routes. 
•    Must have truck driving skills.
•    Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
•    Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities. 
•    Must encompass professional demeanor. 
•    Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions. 
•    Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.
•    Knowledge of defensive driving techniques and relevant transport laws.
•    Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to identify hazardous road conditions.
•    Knowledge of methods of securing and covering loads, including use of locks, straps and types of knots.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


•    Required: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years verifiable work experience in related field (i.e. warehouse, distribution).
•    Required: Certified to operate forklift, pallet jack & hand truck within 30 days of hire.
•    Required: Current Driver License and a clean driving history.
•    Preferred: Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities.

•    Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files.
•    Ability to tolerate stress and conduct tasks and successfully perform under critical deadlines.
