Summary

The Repair Station Engineering Technician performs maintenance under FAA Part 145 and Repair Station Manual requirements, in alignment with Component Maintenance Manual for the listed and approved part numbers (articles), in conjunction with the requirements of the companys policies and procedures as well as the Customer and Engineering requirements.

The person(s) in the role have a direct affectation on the Quality and Reliability Performance of the parts and components used as part of the maintenance, preventive maintenance and inspection activities, and therefore are submitted to fully comply with the industrys regulations while at the same time function as a key player in determining the requirements to execute the required actions that result from the analysis prior to the quote process and the final repair-maintenance to be rendered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the direct supervisor and/or management.

  • Performs maintenance in accordance with Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), based on applicability, as well as the related documentation (i.e Service Bulletins) and work instructions. Activities include but are not limited to:
    • Analyzes and installs components, units and printed circuit boards following specifications, ESD guidelines, and instructions,
    • Documents each task performed on a unit, per established procedures and requirements,
    • Uses electronic, hand, power, and pneumatic tools,
    • Customizes and adjusts units, or repairs according to written specifications,
    • Performs final acceptance testing on assemblies prior to shipment.
  • Responsible for reviewing CMM and Service Bulletins and provide feedback to the Engineering team for corrections, updates, and adaptions as applicable.
  • Follows and supports work schedule (Analysis and Repair) to meet Customer delivery dates and expectations.
  • As a Certificated Repairman, responsible for the Certified Inspection and issuance of 8130-3 Tags for applicable products.
  • Supports Engineering on Customer driven requests on detailed analysis, documentation and testing.
  • Responsible of maintenance of equipment, test fixtures, tools, and tooling, as well as all items used in the work areas in working conditions.
  • Seeks feedback/support from supervisor, manager, or leadership on issues and questions that arise from the daily activities as well as with items pertaining the area and/or products of responsibility.
  • Collaborates and communicates with team members and others in the repair station as well as other individuals in the company with the aim to address and resolve issues pertaining the tasks and responsibilities in the area.
  • Accountable to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Responsible to comply with all applicable internal procedures, work instructions and guidelines pertaining the Repair Station.
  • Performs a safety sensitive function.
  • Responsible for complying with all ethical and legal compliance requirements.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

 

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years assembly experience in the manufacturing of electronics components and devices.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with analysis and diagnostics of electronic modules, troubleshooting and repairing of electronic devices and components.
  • Strong soldering skills in thru-hole and surface mount components.
  • Demonstrated computer skills within Linux OS, Windows, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and TEAMS).
    • Able to create reports and document tasks in any of the listed tools
  • Electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical assembly experience, with strong knowledge of best practices in the electronic assembly environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand component maintenance manuals, electronics assembly instructions, blueprints (drawings), components specifications, and written work instructions, among others.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Finger/hand dexterity and ability to lift and carry products up to 25lb for at least 50ft.
  • Must pass the required eye exam to perform the job duties.
  • Must pass any required background checks along with required initial and random ongoing drug and alcohol screening compliant to FAA requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: adept at managing conflict to resolution.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with analog and digital troubleshooting.
  • Previous Certificated Repairman card holder.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 14000/ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 processes.
  • Certified electronics soldering repair against IPC7711.
