Description

Mullins Cheese Inc. is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a 4th generation family-owned business, we take pride in producing high-quality dairy products for over 50 years. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, including electrical systems, mechanical components, and instrumentation devices. You will perform preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, and make necessary repairs to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance tasks on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using testing equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Repair or replace defective components and equipment parts
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation devices
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Fill out proper documentation in accordance to customer specification and government agencies
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory
  • Aid other employees to maintain a safe process and quality product
  • Follow Safety Procedures
  • Maintain clean work environment
  • Comply with all processes and procedures of SQF 2000 to assure safe, quality product

 

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Willing and Able to be exposed to/perform all physical and environmental factors including very hot climates to extremely cold climates.
  • Education: Certification from Vocational School; associated degree in industrial/mechanical technology; education not required if have sufficient experience.
  • Experience: 2 years in manufacturing position (with education); 2-5 years of maintenance related position (without education)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Certification from Vocational School; associated degree in industrial/mechanical technology; education not required if have sufficient experience.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in manufacturing position (with education); 4-10 years of maintenance related position (without education)
  • Experience: 2-5 years in experince with electrical components and E/I experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Twisting, bending, and squatting with 50lbs object in hand
  • Long Periods of Standing and Walking
  • Lifting 60 lbs. from the ground
  • Good finger/hand/multi-limb dexterity

Schedule Requirements:

Startup 11pm-7am

Sunday - Thursday. Every Friday & Saturday off

Wage / Hours:

  • Minimum starting at $ 28.00 per hour/$3 shift premium included
  • Wage open based upon experience
  • $3.00 Shift Premium 6pm-6am. Monday-Friday. All Day Saturday
  • 1.5x on Sundays

Full-time, 40 – 50 hours Per Week, 1.5x pay over 40 hours and holidays
