Location: South San Francisco, CA

Would you like to join a team that is at the leading edge of omics technology and data science? We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards a graduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Pharmaceutical Sciences for an internship during the summer of 2023. 

Objectives/Goals of the Position:

  • Apply state-of-the-art mass spectrometry instrumentation to address sophisticated bioanalytical challenges related to drug discovery and development

Primary Duties:

  • Optimize sample preparation protocols for proteins and/or metabolites from various sources (cell culture, tissues, and biofluids).
  • Develop a LC-MS method using state-of-the-art high resolution mass spectrometry (DDA and DIA) and run a pilot study.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to develop an analysis pan for the data generated.
  • Present the work at group and project team meetings. 
 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • PhD (preferred) or master students who are working towards a degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Hands-on experience working with high resolution mass spectrometry if possible in the field of proteomics.
  • Experience with standard wet laboratory techniques and sample preparation of biological material.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0+
