Location: South San Francisco, CA

We are currently seeking students working towards a PhD degree in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Pharmacology for an internship during the summer of 2023. 

Objectives/Goals of the Position:

  • Identify and develop safety and pharmacodynamic biomarkers for therapeutic product programs.
  • Collaborate with Scientists from across integrated Bioanalysis and Clinical Pharmacology & Safety Sciences.
  • Gain insights into working with complex human models and developing safety/PD biomarkers that can be used in clinic.

Primary Duties:

  • Perform laboratory-based research using multiple platform technologies to evaluate the mechanisms of action and identify biomarkers associated with drug-induced safety findings or pharmacodynamic activities
  • Develop and advance new methods and cellular assays to explore the mechanisms of actions and biomarker detection
  • Generate, interpret and communicate data
 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Students working towards a PhD degree in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Pharmacology.
  • Basics lab experience with cell culture and in vitro assays
  • Familiar with imaging-based platforms, flow cytometry, nucleotide-based assays to better understand mechanisms of action of therapeutic products
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, presentation and writing skills
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0+
