Certification is preferred but not required. Job Description and Qualifications The lower school is searching for a part time Teaching Assistant with a collaborative spirit and strong communication and interpersonal skills. The preferred candidate will have at least two years of working in an elementary/lower school environment. A strong knowledge base of childhood development and academic abilities of young learners is essential for this position.   Position Requirements Monitor and support positive social growth and development of the students in assigned grade level Assist assigned teachers in maintenance of classroom environment Assist in preparation of teaching materials Assist with literacy development and other classroom activities in multiple grade levels Work with individual students in need of extra support, as directed by classroom teacher(s) Provide before-school supervision, as assigned, both outside at drop-off and inside, supervising early arrivals until classrooms open Assist with afternoon dismissal process as directed Supervise Extended Care students on Late Arrival and Early Dismissal Days, when Director is unable to otherwise secure enough care for the numbers who stay Assist with administration of assessments for prospective students   This position is currently not accepting applications.
