Description

Mental Health Therapist:

Full or part-time position for a Mental Health Therapist. This position will be a total of 24 hours/week and will be split between three 8-hour workdays Monday through Thursday. This position requires an active LCSW license to perform therapy in the state of New Jersey. The candidate would be paid for the total hours worked per week, not only when facilitating therapy sessions.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily and/or weekly staffing meetings per schedule.

  • Facilitate individual and/or group counseling services.

  • Provide and score assessment screening tools when needed.

  • Evaluate and diagnose patients according to the DSM V criteria.

  • Develop appropriate treatment goals with clients and work collaboratively to accomplish treatment goals.

  • Document the assessment of patient progress/regress and interventions provided in the medical record on an ongoing basis.

  • Recognize, respond to and assist in psychiatric crisis situations and provide the intervention(s) necessary.

  • Respond and assist in medical emergency situations as directed and needed.

  • Communicate effectively with patient, staff and physician/coordinate care according to the patient's needs.

Position Requirements

Counselor Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Possesses superb written and spoken communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues, and community resources.

  • Ability to be a team player and collaborate with others under the direction of the Medical Director.

  • Excellent time management skills; organized and able to prioritize.

  • Able to organize and manage files, schedules, dates, and information.

  • Self-directed and self-motivated.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), as well as other software programs such as Electronic Medical Records is a plus.

Confidentiality:

Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times with regard to protected health information, understanding and adhering to HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures.

Education:

A Master’s degree is required.

At least 1 year of clinical experience required. 3+ years of clinical experience is strongly preferred.

Additional License/Certification:

An LCSW provided by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs is required.
