Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

Valley Community Services Board is looking to hire a Recruitment Specialist! As a key member of the Human Resources Team, the Recruitment Specialist works closely with the Human Resources Director to develop and implement a proactive recruitment program.

Summary of Essential Functions:

  • Proactively source and recruit individuals to build a pipeline of candidates for mission-critical vacancies.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to screen applicants, schedule interviews, and review finalists.
  • Provide training for hiring managers as needed to support a collaborative recruitment process.
  • Manage the pre-hire process, including, but not limited to, dispensing candidates in the applicant tracking system, drafting offer letters, sending and receiving new hire paperwork, and ensuring final candidates provide required documentation.
  • Design and implement an onboarding program that supports new hires during their first year of employment.
  • Conduct new hire check-in meetings after the first 90 days, six months, and first year; compile and analyze feedback to determine trends and suggest courses of action.
  • Serve as the Human Resources representative on the Employee Engagement Workgroup.
  • Collaborate with the agency’s diversity, equity, and inclusion committee to ensure an authentic, functional commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Human resources best practices.
  • Applicable state and federal laws regarding hiring practices.
  • HR information data base basics, such as data entry and report development.
  • Retention strategies.
  • Basic statistical analysis.

Skills Pertaining to:

  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Research.
  • Data analysis and explanation.
  • Oral and written communication.
  • Relationship building.
  • Database management, including data entry, data pulls, and report development.
  • The use of LinkedIn, Indeed, and other internet recruiting resources.
  • Employee engagement and retention.

Ability to:

  • Collaborate with others and successfully overcome interpersonal obstacles in a professional manner.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential candidates.
  • Proactively generate leads for mission-critical position vacancies.
  • Connect with and regularly engage VCSB leaders.
  • Analyze problems and suggest solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and three years of experience; or master’s degree in business administration or related field and one year of experience.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Previous experience with recruitment or retention program development.

Salary Information Up to $58,000 annually.
