Position Human Resources Generalist  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Location Medford, NY  
Salary $60,000  
Days/Hours Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm  
Description

Concern Housing is seeking a HR Generalist to support the Human Resources Department with general HR functions as they pertain to compliance, Agency policies, payroll, leave benefits, and hiring processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Place advertisements with online vendors, local papers, Suffolk County agencies, colleges, etc. Maintain contacts for each job board.  Keep log of all ads placed, and analyze cost vs. effectiveness in solicits hires.
  • Process all intern/volunteer packets, including setting up fingerprinting appointments and maintaining up to date information on the Employee Roster and HRIS.
  • Assist with background checks and onboarding processes for potential and new hires.
  • Issue ID badges for employees as needed.
  • Prepare and coordinate internal and external audit documents as required.
  • Filing of Disability, Paid Family Leave, and Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Administer FMLA and other leave entitlements and track leaves on time sheets system.
  • Process payroll as backup to Payroll & Benefits Administrator.
  • Ensure Agency property is returned upon employment separation and update property attestations on the Employee Roster.
  • Maintain employee records, and all other human resource-related files.
  • Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other related duties as required in support of the day-to-day administration and operations of the Human Resources Department.

 

Annual Salary: $60,000

 
Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 3 years experience in core Human Resources department functions. Responsible for updating, upholding, and applying all HR and agency policies and procedures. Must become well-versed in guidelines and standards related to the agency's payroll, benefits, hiring and retention, training and development, and compliance programs. Must remain current in labor law, federal and NYS mandates. Must possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills, plus excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to navigate and develop HR related e-systems. PayChex experience a plus.
