Role and Responsibilities

The IT Business Systems Analyst II, under general supervision, is responsible for acting as a liaison between IT and business users on various business systems projects. A Business Systems Analyst II must have a basic understanding of business systems and the technology that is used. Duties include documenting system requirements, formulating scope, defining objectives, and creating system specifications that drive system development and implementation. Competency to work at a minimal technical level during most phases of systems analysis.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead client meetings to gather business requirements, documents, and analyzes customer requirements.
  • Participates in evaluation, implementation, training, and support of application software both off-the shelf and in house developed.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and development to assigned applications and implement new products.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Tests and verifies software releases, upgrades, and any changes prior to the promotion of code to the production environment.
  • Generate and update appropriate documentation as per policy and procedure. Including requirements, specifications, change control, end user documentation.
  • Strategic thinking related to the business process to identify issues or opportunities for improvements.
  • Assist in business system administration tasks, documentation, and process improvement support.
  • Assists in developing and documenting business system policies and procedures, business rules, and training materials. Prepares detailed flow-charts, diagrams, and specifications as required.
  • Responsible for coordination and documenting data conversions and module-to-module interface integrations. Develops data verification methods to ensure data integrity.
  • Reports to management on progress of the scheduling, implementation, and other activities pertinent to any assigned projects success.
  • Develop testing plans and ensure they meet client specifications, standards, guidelines, and efficiency requirements.
  • Assist in documentation of standards and methods.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
  • Must complete all required Astronics Training programs within a set time frame.

QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years of equivalent business analyst experience.
  • Experience in SQL Report Writing is required.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and managing time across multiple tasks.
  • Experience in understanding customer needs and providing quality customer service.
  • Experience in business process development is required.
  • Experience in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both orally and in writing is required.
  • Moderate understanding of software implementation life cycle, project management, business process management, requirements definition, functional design, quality management, and change management is preferred.
  • Financial module experience is a plus.
  • This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
  • Ability and willingness for 10% travel, which may include international
