How Youll Contribute

As a key member of our team and in the role of Director of Real Estate Investment and Finance, you will help us reach our strategic growth goals by assisting with Russell's lender and investor relationships, guiding capital raising, leading the underwriting, disposition, and market research activities for our commercial projects across the country.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Identify strategic commercial real estate investment trends and opportunities.
  2. Source real estate investments in our target markets by developing broker and other partnering relationships.
  3. Capitalize identified development projects with debt and equity.
  4. Foster and maintain relationships with debt and equity capital providers.
  5. Lead relationships with the investment sales community, including brokers, REITs, pension funds, private funds, advisors.
  6. Solicit and analyze buyer and lender interest for proposed developments.
  7. Provide leadership to development team in originating, analyzing, financing, closing, managing and selling real estate investments.
  8. Hold development team accountable to project performance vs. plan.
  9. Establish strategy for investment asset portfolio including exit strategy recommendations.
  10. Work with internal teams to prepare marketing information for debt and investment sale packages and oversee the distribution and selection of associated response.
  11. Oversee collection and delivery of information needed by parties during due diligence and to meet closing dates and review closing statements for completeness and accuracy.
  12. Assist with management of post-closing matters, such as master leases, earn-outs and escrow funds.
  13. Review financial analysis and modeling for proposed and existing development projects.
  14. Facilitate the development of a robust client investment reporting package.
  15. Establish and monitor performance benchmarks for investment assets.
  16. Build and maintain strong internal working relationships within and between departments.
  17. Develop in-depth knowledge of Russell market sectors, geographic locations, products, services and practices and stay abreast of the impacts of current financial trends.

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management or related field; or equivalent, relevant experience and knowledge. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years’ experience in finance or accounting in commercial real estate or related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and experience modeling joint ventures with distribution waterfalls.
  • Well versed in the due diligence process, typical to a financing or sale transaction.
  • Ability to establish strong, long-term, productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; including presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, with thorough knowledge of MS Excel and/or other financial software packages.
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time.
  • Strong sense of personal motivation and responsibility.
  • Able to function both in a team-oriented setting and independently.
