About Mid Michigan Community Action Agency
MMCAA is a nonprofit community action agency whose mission is to guide local residents on the path to self-sufficiency through empowerment, education and community enrichment. The early childhood services department provides comprehensive Early Head Start home based services, Head Start and GSRP preschool services as well as WIC services.
Status: Hourly
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.85 w/BA
Hiring Incentive:
$2,500.00 for new RFT employees to be paid out as follows
o $500.00 at time of hire (first paycheck)
o $500.00 at successful completion of 90 days (removed from provisional status)
o $1500.00 at successful completion of full year of employment
What you will do
Head Start Family Service Workers are part of the comprehensive services offered to children and families. The responsibilities of the Family Service Worker include:
Coordinate and conduct applications and enrollments with families and ensure accurate and complete documentation for eligibility.
Coordinate Family Partnership agreements and be able to implement the goal setting process with families.
Support family needs by providing resources as needed.
Support family engagement in all aspects of the Head Start Program
Be an active voice in the community to promote the Head Start program and recruit eligible children.
Work collaboratively with community partners in delivering quality services to children and families.
Accurately complete required program documentation and record keeping in a neat and timely manner.
Responsible for inputting data into program data bases.
What we will love about you
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development, Human Services, Human Development, Family Studies or related.
Bachelors Degree Preferred.
A solid knowledge base with respect to child development and family services and seek to expand knowledge at every opportunity.
Initiative, flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team leader and a team member.
Good communication and organizational skills and be able to work effectively with people.
Self-directed and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in order to deliver desired outcomes within allocated time frames.
Willing to accept new challenges.
