Share Email Opening Title Junior Estimator   Category Accounting/Finance   Position Junior Estimator   Description Junior estimators assist the lead estimator in calculating the costs of materials for a construction project. As a junior estimator, you prepare initial cost estimates for the required supplies and services, create pricing schedules, develop bid proposals, and assess the technical aspects of the project. You may also help with risk analysis assessments related to the costs of the project. Responsibilities: Calculating costs based on blueprints, drawings, maps, or other reference materials provided by architects or engineers Compiling estimates of labor costs and material costs to prepare bids for construction projects Communicating with vendors to obtain bids for materials and services needed for construction projects Reviewing bids from vendors to ensure compliance with contract requirements Creating detailed construction estimates based on engineering designs and specifications provided by architects, engineers, or contractors Preparing bids for underground utility projects Assisting in selecting subcontractors or suppliers that meet specific project requirements Estimating materials labor costs for construction projects using Estimating Software Interpreting plans, specifications, and drawings to determine project costs Prepares the estimate by the work breakdown structure and code of accounts Maintains close liaison with and provides necessary input to planning and scheduling. Works closely with operation managers to monitor project costs and produces preliminary cost curves for client information Evaluates scope changes, contract values, cost trends impact, field order and trade-off studies   Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (Engineering, Accounting, Construction, & Project Management) 1-2+ years of experience in the construction industry Experience with estimating software (preferably Bid2Win) Strong communication and organizational skill   Salary   Req Number ACC-22-00003   Location Boston   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
