Shaw/Stewart takes pride in our 135-year history and values the customers who got us here. The Building Material Sales role is critical to the overall success of the organization. As a Sales Person you are in charge of creating, fostering and sustaining valuable customer relationships. You will be responsible for prospecting clients, estimating material takeoffs, job site consults, preconstruction meetings, and project management. Sales staff are bound to our values and goals and promote the highest quality service to Shaw/Stewart's customers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Achieve sales and gross margin targets
  • Develop and execute business plan
  • Acquire new business
  • Execute company sales process
  • Relationship management

THIS IS YOU

The successful Building Material Salesperson is motivated, takes an active role in personal development, and thrives in an autonomous environment. High attention to detail and efficiency in personal organization and time management are pivotal characteristics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are key.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or Certificate in Construction Management OR equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Preferred:

  • Outside sales experience
  • B.S. in Construction Management OR Equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Project Management or Estimating
  • 2+ years of experience in construction or trades
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project
