Description

The Quality assurance supervisor is responsible to notify and advise production supervisor of problems and the effective correction of problems. Establish effective measures to assist in the manufacturing process. Advise production and technical services in preventing potential problems.This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager

  • Responsible for scheduling and staffing Quality Assurance Department. Direct QA technicians on daily duties. Provide leadership, motivation, and training for subordinates. Do employee performance evaluations.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment. Provide appropriate routine maintenance and calibration on analytical equipment. Maintain all Quality Control/Micro supplies.
  • Lead regular and special QA team meetings. Confront and constructively resolve conflict issues within the department. Enforce safety and housekeeping rules among QA staff.
  • Assure efficient, accurate and timely analysis of samples. Possess working knowledge of all analytical methods, tests, and microbiological tests used in assessing quality of products manufactured at St. Joseph division.
  • Diagnose and advise the correction of out of specification products. Follow up and disposition product or materials on "HOLD". Assure all record keeping is complete and accurate. Daily follow-ups and reports to QA manager.
  • Structure training programs on analytical test methods, food safety and quality programs for new QA technicians.
  • Develop and maintain QA procedures for St. Joseph division in compliance with HQ Quality Assurance program. Actively support initiatives and programs as mandated by HQ Safety and Environmental Affairs.
  • Direct and assist in investigations, consult with appropriate personnel, and formally summarize product quality complaints and product recalls. Answer customer complaints.
  • Responsible for Food Safety, by following & assuring compliance and implementation of all company policies including Safety & HR policies, procedures, all applicable food regulations, including all current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • This includes managing special focus for key customer specification requirements, HACCP/GMP's, and SQF II requirements. Includes all second party audits and third-party audits to confirm compliance to all food safety and quality systems
  • Conduct monthly food safety and quarterly HACCP audits. Participate in customer Food Safety audits.
