Email Opening Title Research & Evaluation Director  About the Organization At Charlotte Bilingual Preschool, our mission is to prepare Spanish-speaking children for success in school and life by providing superior dual language, multi-cultural early childhood education. We are developing the premier model of culturally appropriate, dual-language early childhood education for Latinx children and their families in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, and our nation. Our two-generation model: • Provides 3- and 4-year-old Spanish-speaking children with superior dual language, multi-cultural preschool instruction in the only 5-star licensed dual language preschool program in North Carolina • Helps families build literacy and kindergarten-readiness skills for their children from infancy to 5-years-old • Offers family members the resources they want to become active participants in their children's early development • Trains the next generation of professionally certified dual language early childhood educators • Expands our reach by partnering with other early childhood education providers to employ our dual language early-education model • Advocates state- and nationwide for our early-childhood education model, our children, and their families. We design advocacy tools with our families and supporters to encourage them to voice their views with policymakers about removing the systemic barriers that prevent them from thriving. Our board of directors approved an ambitious strategic plan in early 2020 that includes dramatic expansion. In the next ten years, we plan to serve 1,500 children and their families. Overview Charlotte Bilingual Preschool (CltBP) is developing the model of culturally appropriate, dual language early childhood education for Latinx children and their families in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, and our nation. Opportunity Building on this momentum, CltBP's board of directors approved a game-changing strategic plan in early 2020 that includes dramatic expansion over the next ten years, growing its impact to meet the needs of ten times as many children and their families annually. This plan calls for expanding reach through partnerships with other preschools, evolving the current preschool into a full-day early learning center, and developing a dual language early learning workforce The Role Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Research & Evaluation Director drives a data-rich environment at Charlotte Bilingual Preschool that ensures our programs are designed to address demonstrable need and are evaluated against intentional benchmarks to produce maximum impact for our students and their families. Because the Research and Evaluation Director is aware of and involved in every aspect of our students' and families' experience, from drop off to pick up and oftentimes in between, he/she is uniquely positioned to probe trends and make connections the team can use to, in turn, improve our programs. Essential Duties upervises Research and Evaluation Assistants Develops and refines a logic model/theory of change to inform data collection Develops data collection tools and systems and administers research processes to answer questions related to program design, student and family tracking, program evaluation, and strategic planning Summarizes student and family data and communicates findings/trends to the Preschool and Family Programs teams to inform programming Communicates data trends across programs to increase alignment between programs Develops brief reports and summaries to share data with community partners, funders, and potential funders Collaborates with Grants Manager and Programs Teams to develop data tracking systems in order to comply with reporting requirements for grants Monitors the fidelity and reliability of student assessments Identifies metrics to evaluate programs and organization's impact over time Shares data and findings with Advancement team to support grant writing and reporting Conducts research and identifies avenues to share CltBP's successes and lessons learned with academic and non-academic audiences Reviews literature regarding best practices related to early childhood education, dual-language instruction, and a multi-generational approach Manages collaborative research efforts with community partners regarding research related to CltBP's mission Coordinates data collection at expansion sites and communicates findings with Expansion Manager and Principal to enhance fidelity of implementation (including instruction and family support) and promote continued quality improvement at expansion sites Conducts CltBP's yearly program evaluation   Location Charlotte Bilingual Preschool   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
