Your New Role At Societal:

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for processing data in one or more specialized fields of accounting to support the Manager, Accounting.

How You Will Make An Impact:

Inputs and maintains accurate financial data, both manually and using IT systems, and may also prepare schedules, analyses and reports based on that data

Utilizes pre-determines processes and procedures to coordinate tasks with others on the team

Performs research of historical company transactions as required

Completes scheduled monthly and/or quarterly tasks timely using the MS Teams platform or other company-supported platforms

Documents and performs regular control activities such as collecting authorizations, checking work of self and others, and other control activities in support of an effective accounting and reporting control environment in accordance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and related guidance.

Gathers and provides support for audit selections, interacts with auditors and otherwise supports the company’s audit programs as required.

Responds to inquiries via email, text messaging and phone and other means and escalates or resolves issues timely and professionally.

Supports manager by performing various other accounting-related tasks, as requested.

Provides backup support to other members of the accounting team during scheduled time off.

Completes regular training and attends scheduled meetings

Maintains compliance with company policies and procedures.

Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.

Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.

Embodies Societal’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department and company culture.

 
Position Requirements

Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associate degree or equivalent in accounting with no prior experience or no degree with 1-2 years of experience.

High attention to detail

Excellent data entry skills

Work experience with the applicable specialized field is preferred

Able to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) products and ability to utilize the Internet

SAP or similar ERP program experience is preferred

Can communicate effectively in both oral and written form with both internal and external parties.

Can maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a broad group of individuals.

Ability to recognize, analyze and solve basic work-related problems.

Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.

Can create basic spreadsheets and write basic correspondence.

Basic mathematical skills

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties the employee is:

Constantly required to sit and to reach to use computers and other office equipment

Occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds

Constantly required to view objects at close and distant ranges with hand and eye coordination

Work Environment

Remote: Employee will work with moderate noise level within an office or home office setting. Employee will perform tasks while experiencing numerous interruptions. Employee may travel by car and airplane to work at different locations and may occasionally be required to travel overnight. The work environment is fast paced. This position has the utmost responsibility for compliance with the rules and regulations regarding a safe and healthy work environment relative to their actions and conduct. Off-shift, weekend and overtime duties may be required. While performing the job duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use English written and oral communication skills.

Special Working Conditions

This position offers approximately 50% flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, if desired. Working hours will be mutually determined and coordinated with the Manager, Accounting.
