Description

 

VSolvit is seeking a Network and Computer Administrator who brings expertise in Technical Management Agent Tracking System (TMMATS), specifically ACCESS.  The ideal candidate will have been responsible for daily operations of TMMATS data base system along with security control compliance.

While this position requires an on site presence at Pt. Hueneme for occassional on site meetings, much of this work can be done remotely; the ideal candidate must be within driving distance of Oxnard, California, in Ventura County. 

The Network and Computer Systems Administrator II - TMMATS - will develop, administer, oversee, enhance and maintain the daily operations of the Technical Management Agent Tracking System (TMMATS) database system along with security control compliance. He/she will organize, install, and support the NSWC PHD Technical Manual Support and Services customer to ensure functionality of data and software are kept current.

The role of a Network and Computer Systems Administrator II will include, but is not limited to the following

 Responsible for managing TMMATS database system

Monitor ongoing processes in TMMATS, alert clients of potential issues and resolutions

Actively review TMMATS data to eliminate duplication and fill empty fields from sources such as Technical Data Management Information System (TDMIS)

Works closely with the client to develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) to improve operations and function of TMMATS including authoring, producing, and publishing the TMMATS User Guide (UG)

Provide training and coaching for contractors and government personnel

Hardware/Software support and integration to develop and enhance program capabilities

Technical liason (helpdesk) to refine, delineate, and achieve client objectives in data management

Prepare custom queries and reports as requested

QA reviews or publication archiving as requested by onsite Production Supervisor

Central point of contact for TMMs to update their records as new data becomes available.

Analyze and revise coding for more efficient and expedient ways of accomplishing the work to be done in TMMATS

Effectively communicate day-to-day with both government and contractors to understand issues, concerns, expectations and provide solutions and thorough explanations using both at the programmer and the layman’s level of understandinDetermine and introduce new innovations for user friendliness and utility

Identify and implement corrections to records on a large scale when errors due to entry or omission are found during discovery or when new data is received

Respond to trouble calls and customer requests in a timely manner

Conduct data review to correct errors and ensure data integrity

Work with client to determine adaptation of the TMMATS application to utilize cloud-based SQL data management

Implement Navy’s Flank Speed environment and provide smooth transition while adapting to existing application

Expand and refine TMMATS functions and features based on requirements established by the client

Customize TMMATS for excel output from Access VBA.

Use greater judgment and initiative to determine the approach or action to take in non-routine situation as they arise

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer Information Systems or similar or 4+ year of experience may substitute for degree
  • 3 + years’ experience maintaining TMMATS database system (Technical Management Agent Tracking System)
  • 3+ years’ experience in network administration and support
  • 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience working in DoD or government environment
  • 5+ years’ experience with DoD terminology, correspondence, and compliance standards
  • 5+ years’ experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of software applications and associated government network technologies
  • Effective decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation
  • 1+ years’ experience and knowledge of surface combatant/submarine operation information processing network environments
  • Must be able to resolve problems independently or work with team members to drive solutions
  • Experience in supporting the application and troubleshooting issues
