Job Summary

The Lead Case Manager owns the customer experience from submission of application to the issue of business to an active status. This position is responsible for following appropriate processes to get applications processed to an active status in our legacy systems and in ATLAS, assists in training new employees and assists with providing New Business requirements for ATLAS enhancements. This position reports to the New Business Manager.

Essential Role Functions

  • Apply sound judgement in the application of rules and guidelines when reviewing New Business applications.
  • Communicate with the Field or outside parties with proven ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, resourcefulness and understanding to gain trust and confidence with clients.
  • Assist in case management, including but not limited to coding, applying premium, issue, and reissue.
  • Assists in gathering ATLAS requirements for New Business, not limited to testing.
  • Serves as a trainer for new employees.
  • Updates Instruction Manuals.
  • Be the subject matter expert of the New Business cases assigned and processed by the case manager and answers case and new business process questions.
  • Serves as back-up for running department reports.
  • Provides back up assistance to other staff members in varying areas as needed.
  • Catalyst for identifying ways to improve the customer experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Department Specific Functions

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of annuities and life insurance regulations on both the Federal and state level.
  • Skilled in annuity & life issue processes and procedures
  • Provides customer-focused service to internal and external customers through written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to communication inquiries from Financial Representatives regarding action taken on an application while adhering to privacy standards.
  • Knowledge in Lifecycle 1.0, Lifecycle 2.0, and ATLAS
  • Knowledge of policy accounting transactions for new business

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in New Business

Licenses & Certifications

  • Completion of LOMA insurance courses I and II required within first year of employment.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required. Overtime may be required at peak times.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
