Job Summary

Responsible to provide leadership in the design, development and execution of the Company’s corporate education and training programs. Using strong business acumen, this position creates, communicates and implements development programs and solutions to align with the Company’s workforce talent needs, organizational changes and key business strategies and initiatives. This position provides advice and counsel to management on development-related issues and ensures development programs support all required competency and talent needs across the platform and align with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.

Essential Functions

  1. Acts as a customer relationship manager for all business groups across the platform, including field staff, and a key member of the leadership team, driving implementation of learning and development strategy.
  2. Develops a keen understanding of all business centers and functions, as well as the required competencies and current department challenges of all business groups.
  3. Creates and implements processes, programs and tools designed to maximize employee productivity, performance and engagement.
  4. Collaborates with leadership to create guidelines for and measure success of career progression opportunities and development programs for all front line and middle management positions.
  5. Creates and implements leadership development curriculums for all levels of management and educational programs to connect employees with business objectives and improve performance at all levels.
  6. Develops and implements team-building exercises/workshops and establishes core programs for employee development to improve performance toward business objectives, enhance engagement and strengthen the Company culture.
  7. Provides high quality communications, mentoring and training to staff and other co-workers as needed.
  8. Effectively sources, selects and manages external tools and/or resources used for training and development.
  9. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.
  10. Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  11. Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers and the public.

 

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in organizational development (OD), learning and development, business, human resources or a related field.
  2. Minimum 6-8 years of organizational design and development, training, or consulting experience, preferably in a construction or related business.
  3. Significant experience using technology for training and education, succession planning, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
  4. In-depth experience in program and curriculum design and instructional experience in the areas of leadership, change management, communication and quality/process improvement.
  5. High level of discretion and the ability to coach leaders at all levels about employee development initiatives.
  6. In-depth project management leadership, experience and skills. Strong knowledge of the project life cycle. Strong process orientation.
  7. Strong cross-cultural and interpersonal skills. Highly effective communicator and collaborator, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas and concepts and the ability to build strong working teams and relationships at all levels, in a diverse group, and cross functionally.
  8. Strong business acumen, decision making and experience partnering with business and field leaders in a high growth, process-oriented business setting.
  9. Superior listening, presentation, negotiation, conflict management skills, as well as the ability to influence employees at all levels, including senior management.
  10. Ability to diagnose problems with strategic and critical thinking skills and detail orientation, as well as to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative.
  11. Ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities.
