Summary

The Production Lead is responsible for helping deliver profitable growth by overseeing schedules, priorities, and development for Mechanical Assemblers, Technicians, and the Paint department. The lead will set performance expectations and direct Assembly to deliver high quality products to our customers. Leading and managing a team to promote a strongly engaged department that delivers will be one of the Assembly lead's primary duties. You can expect to work closely with peer leaders and other departments to ensure a timely and smooth flow of production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Upholds Power Test values.

  • Utilize internal experts to support department goals and growth
  • Understands the work required by the team and can correct them as needed
  • Can use basic tools for mechanical and electrical assembly
  • Recognizes safety issues and can concisely communicate the required support to remediate them.
  • Identifies current and future resources and knowledge and can develop plans to meet these needs.
  • Creates chances for others, delegates effectively and strikes a balance between providing directions and the empowerment of others.
  • Prioritizes competing priorities across finite resources and time constraints.
  • Coaches employee to 'Think Like Owners'.
  • Goal and bottom-line oriented, persistently pushing self and others for improvement.
  • Relentless in executing plans to reach KPI targets, measures impact and adjusts.
  • Knows KPI performance in real time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise employees in the Assembly department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Power Test's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems from department Team Leaders (Fabrication, Electronics and Materials).

Qualifications

  • Technical degree of equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, assembly, and/or electrical wiring experience.
  • Strong math and computer skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skils
  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Able to learn and use internal business systems

  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities
  • Self Starter
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead cranes
  • Occasionally required to reach above shoulders.
  • Regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and listen, and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds

Education and/or Experience

Technical degree of equivalent experience and 5+ years of manufacturing, assembly, and/or electrical wiring experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

The employee may be required to drive on occasion and must have a valid driver's license and be covered under the company's insurance policy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a manufacturing environment. This could include tasks near moving mechanical parts, assembly and testing of equipment, fumes or airborne particles, and situations that are stationary at a desk in front of a computer. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to wear proper PPE including but not limited to safety glasses and steel-toed boots or equivalent.
