Reports to: House Facilitator/Lead Resident Assistant FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Date Created: 05/10/2019

Wage $17.86 - $18.57

Hours: Sunday 8am-2pm. Mon,Tue,Friday & Sat Swing Shift.  Other shifts as needed, holiday and overnights may be required at times.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Provides house supervision and resident services. Managing all aspects of resident services and house management in the Evening, Overnight, and Weekends. Overseeing Residents and Volunteers. Ensure policies and standard operating procedures are being followed. Residents and volunteers are treated with respect and the overall house is a safe and healing environment.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position directly supervises Anna Ogden Hall as a whole including all residents, volunteers, and associate staff, during non-business hours.

 

 

  • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Key Result Area #1: Clear and Effective Communication
  •  
  • Ensure good communication with Supervisor, Program Team and RA Team. Reading and responding to emails promptly, utilizing all resources available in communication, email, database, and phone.
  • Document in a detailed shift report any key events of the night, sharing thoughts, insights, concerns and conversations with the residents.
  • Communicate any tasks that still need to be done to the on-coming shift RA or Lead RA.
  • Keep residents informed of any daily / weekly activities.
  • Attend monthly RA team meetings.
  • When possible to do so, attend All Staff and weekly AOH Staff meetings.
  • Meet 1x1 monthly with Lead RA / House Facilitator.
  • Participate in training opportunities for RA staff.
  • Demonstrate appreciation and gratitude, transferring the cause with volunteers and donors.

 

Key Result Area #2: House Supervision

 

  • Read and follow the Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Be aware of any safety or security issues and address promptly by notifying Lead Resident Advisor / House Facilitator.
  • Ensures the safety of staff, residents and volunteers in emergency situations.
  • During Swing shift and again upon arrival of Overnight shift, do a security check of the building securing all doors, gates and windows, ensuring they are locked.
  • Monitor cameras, watching to assure the safety of the inside and outside of the house. Notifying the authorities of any threats.
  • Participate in an evacuation drill quarterly and is aware of and practiced in emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Complete, maintain and update administrative tasks and assorted computer tasks, such as database roster, check-in / meal count, medication records, making copies of various program documents when needed.
  • Overnight Shift will set Alarm system after securing the house by making sure the doors and windows are locked.
  • Overnight Shift will unlock the Dumpster Gates on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
  • Overnight Shift will maintain the UA cabinet stocking it with supplies need to perform UA/BA’s.

 

Key Result Area #3: Resident Services

 

  • Hold good boundaries with residents and embrace total accountability.
  • Ensure physical and emotional safety for residents and facility.
  • Seek to listen and understand, avoiding hasty conclusions and misperceptions, hearing all sides. Assure follow-up conversations are happening.
  • Deescalate disruptive behavior and maintain the peace and security of the house. Holding residents accountable to exit as necessary.
  • Daytime and Evening Shift - Perform random drug and alcohol screening of residents, daily and Manage patient information and drug screen results in Millennium Health site.
  • Pray for / with residents and over the environment as needed.
  • Conduct nightly room checks, holding firm to the standard, having conversations and leading residents to Self-Evaluations when necessary.
  • Facilitates medicine calls and first aid assistance to residents as needed.

 

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Computer literate with a high proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook; able to complete documents, reports and accurately record information.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, oral, and instructional.
  • Prove to be teachable: organized with the ability to work as a team and individually; able to listen and follow instructions.
  • Show ability to listen empathically, respond appropriately in emotional situations, and resolve difficult resident related issues in an understanding way with the goal of maintaining relationships.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; Frequently = 34%-66%; Continuously = 67%-100%

  • Work is primarily indoors. It requires climbing stairs, walking, sitting, standing, bending, and reaching - Continuously.
  • Requires a sustained level of high energy, stamina, and the ability to move about the house on a regular and ongoing basis – Continuously.
  • Requires the ability to hear, see, and speak clearly – Continuously.
  • Requires the ability to lift objects up to 10lbs- Occasionally

 

 

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED:

  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Email
  • Breathalyzer/UA Materials (cups, rubber gloves)

Position Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Preferable 2+ years’ experience with recovery and addiction.
  • Experience using computers, multi-line phone system, excellent inter personal skills.
  • Experienced in de-escalation training
  • Emergency First Aid Certification
