Share Email Opening Title Payroll Specialist (Avon, MA)  Description The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing all aspects of weekly, multi-state payroll for non-union and union employees in our Railroad division. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Monitor submissions of approved timesheets and accurately enters data into our payroll system. Ensures valid data transfers between systems. Post timesheets and certified payrolls to the Viewpoint system.. Verify Calculates wages, overtime and deductions to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, DOT regulations and Labor agreements. Responsible for the coordination of efforts between payroll, human resources, finance, operations and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data. Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations. General Certified Payroll Reports on a weekly basis and distribute as required. Other duties as assigned. Pay Rate Range $26.00 to $27.00 P/hr. D.O. E   Position Requirements H.S. diploma or GED is required. An Associate’s Degree is preferred. Must have at least 2-4 years of payroll processing and data entry experience. Previous experience processing union payrolls is a plus.. Knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and standards. Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and attention to detail. Previous experience with Viewpoint software is a plus. Previous experience processing payroll for union employees is a plus.
