Payroll Specialist (Avon, MA) 

Description

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing all aspects of weekly, multi-state payroll for non-union and union employees in our Railroad division.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor submissions of approved timesheets and accurately enters data into our payroll system.
  • Ensures valid data transfers between systems.
  • Post timesheets and certified payrolls to the Viewpoint system..
  • Verify Calculates wages, overtime and deductions to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, DOT regulations and Labor agreements.
  • Responsible for the coordination of efforts between payroll, human resources, finance, operations and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Establish/maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
  • General Certified Payroll Reports on a weekly basis and distribute as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate Range $26.00 to $27.00 P/hr. D.O. E

 
Position Requirements
  • H.S. diploma or GED is required. An Associate’s Degree is preferred.
  • Must have at least 2-4 years of payroll processing and data entry experience.
  • Previous experience processing union payrolls is a plus..
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with Viewpoint software is a plus.
  • Previous experience processing payroll for union employees is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
